Dr. Martin is a native to Western Pennsylvania.
His grandfather, Dr. J.A. DePalma, served the people of the Sewickley area from the 1950s. His uncle, Dr. Daniel DePalma, had been serving those same people since 1987. Dr. Martin is carrying on this tradition.
Dr. Martin attended Northgate High School and went on to complete his undergraduate education (Anthropology/Archaeology and Pre-med) at Gettysburg College. He then spent several years working locally while earning a Master’s degree in Human Biology from Chatham University. The next four years were spent completing his formal Podiatric medical education (Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine) in Cleveland, OH. While there, he met his lovely wife Barbara.
Dr. Martin completed his residency in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Heritage Valley Beaver in 2020. He has experience in surgical techniques ranging from nail surgery and hammertoe correction to total ankle replacements and foot/ankle reconstructive surgery.
In December 2018, Dr. Martin and his wife had their first child, a beautiful little girl, Keira. In June 2021, they welcomed their son, Kai. Expect to hear him talk a good deal about his two kids and four cats.
He is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
